Funding for SafeSacs


At first glance, the SafeSac might look like a beanbag — but it’s actually a specialised sensory chair designed for people with additional needs.


We understand there’s often confusion, especially when applying for NDIS funding, because it visually resembles a traditional beanbag. However, the SafeSac is fundamentally different:

  • It has three layers of protection, making it suitable for disability support environments, including spaces where accidents, spills, or incontinence may occur. All covers are machine washable:
    • A soft internal cover to provide structural support
    • A durable, water-resistant inner cover
    • A high-durability, sensory outer cover
  • Filled with high-density shredded furniture-grade foam, not polystyrene beads — giving it a stable, supportive feel and delivering deep pressure input
  • Built to withstand daily use in homes, schools, and therapy settings where hygiene and longevity matter

Because of these important differences, the SafeSac is commonly funded through the NDIS under Core Supports, often under categories such as Assistive Technology, Sensory Regulation, or Daily Living Aids.





How to Order Using NDIS or a Purchase Order


1. For Plan-Managed NDIS Participants

  3. You’ll instantly receive a tax invoice by email.

Although the SafeSac may look like a beanbag, it is a specialised sensory chair designed for people with disabilities.
